Live Theatre | Concept Creation and Execution
Having produced both "The Great American Trailer Park Musical" and "The Great American Trailer Park CHRISTMAS Musical" to successful outcomes, Miners Alley Playhouse commissioned me and David Nehls (my collaborator on both of those) to create a new show. This would be (and indeed became) a holiday-themed sketch comedy/variety show that would also serve as the 2025 inaugural production in their new, state-of-the-art facility in downtown Golden, Colorado.
Miners Alley Playhouse serves the Denver metro area and has a lot of loyal patrons who expect two offerings every holiday season -- something for the family and something for the grownups. We were the something for the grownups.
The show features an original book by me and an original score by David. Content includes an inappropriately shaped Christmas cookie baking segment, embittered carolers, rogue tech, divorced people, cocktails, workaholics, Santa roasting the audience, a Chanukah song called "It's Jewish Christmas," an opening number called, "Jesus Christ, It's Christmas Again" and Jesus himself taking time out of his busy holiday schedule to make a cameo appearance.
