After performing and touring in theatre for many years, I co-conceived, wrote and directed "The Great American Trailer Park Musical" (music/lyrics by David Nehls) -- building and leading from the ground up.
The show opened Off Broadway, produced by Jean Doumanian and Jeffrey Richards, and has since been produced in nearly every state in the country -- including Alaska. To date, "Trailer Park" has been produced in 48 states and in 5 countries on 4 continents in 2 languages.
It has also toured the U.S. and the U.K., and continues to entertain audiences in productions across North America and beyond -- including South Africa in 2025!
Original Off-Broadway cast members include veteran and tony-award-winning/nominated actors Shuler Hensley, Linda Hart and Leslie Kritzer, who was nominated for a Drama Desk award for her performance in this show.
Thanks to extended runs of the show in Houston, Stages Repertory Theatre commissioned a Christmas-themed sequel, "The Great American Trailer Park CHRISTMAS Musical." This new version sold out its inaugural run, and has since seen productions across the U.S. Both shows are published by Dramatists Play Service (DPS) with producing rights now available through Broadway Licensing. Both cast recordings are also available.
