As part of the Creative Writing Team at WWE, I conceived, pitched and produced character-driven stories for RAW and SmackDown on USA Network and WWE Network events (now airing on Peacock and Netflix). While writing and producing episodic live TV 52 weeks per year, I also led creative on marketing integrations and celebrity guest appearances that featured Mark Wahlberg, Mario Lopez, Skylar Astin, NASCAR Champion Kyle Busch and Rob Gronkowski.
Our team worked closely with the Social Media, Marketing and Data/Analytics departments to enhance storylines, track ratings and assess content traction across several demographics and platforms. An example of content that hit these targets was a segment I created about the Rusev-Lana divorce, which garnered 11 million views on YouTube.
Professional wrestling was a brand new culture and product to me when I arrived at WWE, so I decided to jump in with little-to-no expectations. It turns out, that's a good way to approach an opportunity like this -- it helped me learn fast, build trust and make an impact.
